BSCI, which stands for Business Social Compliance Initiative, is a certification system launched by the Foreign Trade Association (FTA). Its purpose is to promote corporate social responsibility throughout global supply chains, protect workers' rights, and improve working conditions.
The BSCI certification criteria mainly cover the following aspects:
Legal Compliance
Enterprises must comply with all applicable local laws and regulations, including but not limited to labor laws, environmental protection laws, and consumer protection laws.
Workers' Rights
Enterprises must safeguard employees' rights and welfare, prohibit child labor, forced labor, discrimination, and abuse, and provide a safe, healthy, and humane working environment and conditions.
Working Hours
Enterprises must adhere to local laws and regulations as well as international standards, such as the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. They must set reasonable working hours and rest periods for employees and prohibit excessive overtime.
Working Environment
Enterprises must provide a safe, healthy, and humane working environment—including protective equipment, emergency rescue facilities, etc.—and establish related environmental, health, and safety management systems.
Wages and Benefits
Enterprises must pay employees appropriate wages and benefits, prohibit malicious wage suppression and unpaid overtime, and provide social insurance, medical insurance, and other benefits.
Environmental Protection
Enterprises must adopt sustainable production methods and environmental protection measures—such as energy conservation and emission reduction, waste management, and environmental risk assessment—to minimize negative environmental impacts.
Management Systems
Enterprises must establish comprehensive management systems, covering organizational management, human resource management, and supply chain management (among others), to ensure that social responsibility and ethical risks are effectively controlled and managed.
Compliance with BSCI certification criteria is primarily assessed through on‑site audits, document reviews, and social responsibility questionnaires.
From April 27 to 28, 2023, our company was entrusted by our client to undergo a two‑day BSCI social compliance audit conducted by Eurofine, a globally recognized independent third‑party auditing firm.
The audit was carried out in full accordance with the BSCI principles of business conduct. The third‑party auditor conducted an objective and comprehensive assessment of our performance in areas including employee rights, working hours, wages and benefits, compliance with labor laws and regulations, as well as occupational health and safety, fire safety, environmental protection, supplier management, and business ethics.
We successfully passed this audit and were recognized as a company with excellent performance in social responsibility.
